This guide will walk you through how to install your LitterHopper Capacity Extension Attachment compatible with the LitterHopper of the Litter Robot 4.
Disclaimer: I have no affiliation or any type of relationship with the manufacturer of the Litter Robot and the LitterHopper. This is a third-party aftermarket accessory.
Step 1
Align the 2 pieces of the attachment along the joint as pictured, making sure they are both facing the same direction.

Step 2
Press down on both joints to slide one piece onto another. Some resistance is normal. If you're having trouble, do this on the table and do one joint at a time.

Step 3
Remove the lid of your hopper (there's no need to empty the litter though).
Snap into place the attachment, making sure it's aligned along the perimeter of the hopper. The locking mechanism should be in the "up" or unlocked position.

Step 4
Press down on the locking mechanism (specifically press down on the part that curls around into the hole), to lock the attachment into place around the existing hopper plastic. Repeat this for the second piece, and on the other side. The attachment should feel securely attached if you try to tug on it.

Step 5
Before filling with litter, make sure that you have installed the anti-tip guard that came with your hopper. It is a small black wedge that should be visible at the bottom and back of your robot. You should not be using the hopper, with or without this attachment, without having this tip guard.
Fill with litter. If you plan to continue using the lid, then leave a space for the lid as usual.

Step 6
Attach the lid and press down along the perimeter to latch it into place.

Step 7
Press the "Reset" button on your robot to zero-out the scale as usual.

Step 8
That's it! The robot will continue to notify you when the hopper is running low, as usual. Depending on the litter, it will take double (if not more) time between refills.
