Why Buying Direct is Better for Everyone
While we love reaching new people on Etsy, their high fee structure makes it difficult for us to keep our prices low. When you shop with us directly, we avoid the following "middleman" costs:
The "Success Tax" (Transaction Fees): Etsy takes 6.5% off the top of every sale we make—including the money you pay for shipping.
The Listing Tax: We are charged $0.20 every time we post an item or renew a listing. On our site, we can list as many unique items as we want for free.
Offsite Ad Fees: If you found us through a Google ad, Etsy may take an additional 12% to 15% of the total sale. This often means we lose nearly one-fourth of the item's value just to fulfill the order.
Processing Costs: On top of the sales commission, we pay roughly 3% + $0.25 just to process your payment through their system.
Mandatory "Regulatory" Fees: Depending on where you live, Etsy adds extra percentages (up to 1.15%) to cover their own corporate taxes.
